You asked, we answered. One of the hottest topics to our last week’s question - what do you want to see on the blog? Holiday Décor was the most common answer. Rightfully so, as the seasons change, many want the design of their home to reflect that of the outside. Here we are, providing you, thoughtful decorating ideas, and tips. We tend to stay away from the kitschy of things, not that there is anything wrong with it, but it is an obvious choice that we don’t need to shine light on. There is already plenty of light on it.
When it comes to elevate your space with fall/winter décor it is all about adding warmth and expressing your style. Here are some ideas that can help you this season to have your space styled the way you envision. Are you ready?!
IDEA 1
Bringing in fall leaves into your space. We don’t mean literally, actually we kind of do. Using wallpaper is what we mean and this wallpaper can be the option. We suggest this for your entryway wall if possible. Where you have your console, bench, jacket hooks, you know that little area right when you walk in. Easy to stick on and easy to take off. By doing this you are creating an interior environment that encapsulates the very essence of autumn.
IDEA 2
As mentioned last week in our Instagram post greenery definitely has a visual impact. Replacing your flowers with fall foliage is a great and easy way to bring fall indoors while adding texture and an earthy hue to your space. Adding the wallpaper from idea 1 and fall foliage in a vase laying on your console table is already change enough to start feeling the holidays. Bonus: Eucalyptus branches are our number one choice, you clearly can see why - aren’t they gorgeous?!.
IDEA 3
Sprinkling a dose of orange velvet accents to your living room can instantly bring warmth to a room. A throw pillow and/or blanket can be a great addition to your already existing sofa. Other colour options for pillows we love for the winter are these:
Bonus: if you love this new change, leave the new accent pillows to your sofa all year round.
IDEA 4
Here is a simple but luxurious look you can give to your holiday dining – faux fur throws. Drape your dining table chairs with faux fur over the back and voila luxury! We suggest doing this for the special events like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any other fall/winter holiday you are celebrating.
Bonus: Make sure your dining table is curated with beautiful colourful arrangements mixed with flowers, fruits, and foliage.
IDEA 5
Make a statement at the front door with a wreath. First impressions are important. We love giving guests and passerby holiday feels. For that, we go for a less colourful pick but rather an earthy subtle option.
IDEA 6
Last but definitely not least - the tablescape, our favorite to dress up, holiday, or not. Did you know that you feel more full when your food and everything around your food are aesthetically pleasing? It has been scientifically proven. So no debate, no more excuses, you need to set your table for success. We are not talking about anything outrageous or fancy, rather, create a relaxed yet elegant tablescape for you and your guests. Add brass cutlery, cloth napkins, a runner, candles, simple arrangements, and ta-da the only other element is delicious food, lovely humans, and your table is perfectly ready.
These are the things that have us très excited when we start feeling the cold air coming in, gotta focus on the positives the cold months bring. Did this previous sentence almost sound like a rhyme of some sort? It was definitely not meant to have. Get the things you need to make your home feeling wintery.
